In 1990, Richard left his homeland of Scotland to travel and work in the United States. Breckenridge was one of his first stops, and he’s been here ever since. Right from the start, he recognized Breckenridge’s strong sense of community. With friendly people and so many outdoor activities to share with friends and family, he quickly became a Breckenridge local.
Richard began his real estate career with Moore & Company Breckenridge in 1994 and has since transitioned to a partner in the leading real estate firm in Summit County, Breckenridge Associates. Richard’s goal, with each of his client’s unique needs, is to provide honest advice based on years of experience and thorough research of the market. A proven track record in this approach, his clients’ trust in his expertise and knowledge has not only led to repeat business from his clients, but also their referral of his services to friends and family.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, you can find Richard spending much of his spare time golfing on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Breckenridge Golf Course, or mountain biking the areas world-class trails during the summer. In the winter, it’s a mix of downhill skiing or telemarking to an overnight stay in one of the Summit Huts backcountry cabins.
Giving back to the community is also a large part of Richard’s and his partners’ philosophies. Supporting and sponsoring many community events and organizations like the Summit Foundation and the Breckenridge Music Institute is important to keep the town and culture thriving. Richard is also an Executive Board Member of the Breckenridge Film Fest, one of the country’s true independent film festivals, celebrating nearly 30 years in the mountains.
